Our Columbia Valley Vineyard

We have cultivated our Lone Point Cellars Estate with sustainability at the forefront. We are one of North Central Washington’s premier vineyards, sourcing grapes from our Estate & the renowned Red Mountain & Columbia Valley AVAs. Our 1200-foot elevation vineyard thrives in sandy loam soil, mirroring the terroir of France's Loire Valley. We meticulously craft wines that showcase the unique flavors of our Estate Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Tempranillo, & Riesling grapes. ESTATE WIDE SUSTAINABILITY

Some people talk sustainably but we live it! Forty years of farming has taught us how to nurture our land & environment. We have been using integrated pest management since the 70’s. This has allowed us to utilize beneficial insects to control pests that would ordinarily damage our crops.

Achieving a balance with nature has reduced our chemical & carbon footprint dramatically. Monitoring soil & leaf nutrient levels has also reduced the amount of soil amendments needed to keep plant health at optimum levels. We can monitor hourly soil moisture levels – this has vastly reduced our water usage, helped retain soil nutrients, increased root development, & increased the overall quality of our grapes. Planting cover crops has reduced tillage, which in turn has increased soil microorganisms & led to a more balanced & healthy soil.

The construction for our Tasting Room & Cottages are very energy efficient:

  • 36 solar panels supplement energy consumption

  • There are four J-1772 EV charging stations for electric vehicles provided free of charge for our guests

  • All water heaters are propane powered for showers & kitchens

  • We use LED low wattage lighting

  • We use R-40 roofing to reduce heat gain or loss, which lowers heating and cooling costs

  • We use Low-E glass with solar cooled coating to control temperatures

  • Our buildings are positioned with southern exposures for efficiency in summer and winter

Columbia Valley vineyards are known for their bold and rich, yet balanced wines. Lone Point Cellars’ wines are no exception. The nutrient-rich topsoil of the Red Mountain AVA offers the ideal growing conditions for our Malbec grapes, and the wine we craft from it reflects notes of Huckleberry, anise, and vanilla. But, if you aren’t big on red wines, the Columbia Valley AVA is renowned for its whites. Our Sauvignon Blanc is light and refreshing, with hints of green apple, honeydew, and other green fruits.
